Sibugay Integrated School is a mountain barangay school in the Division of Cebu City, with a population of 409 from kinder, grades I to VI pupils and 113 from 1st yr high school to 3rd year. It is situated in Barangay Pung-ol Sibugay about 23 kilometers away from the city proper and 5 kilometers away from Cebu Transcentral Highway.

Emery Estates Cares, the outreach arm of Emery Estates Corporation traversed the difficult roads leading to the school. We were cordially greeted by their school head, Mrs. Maricon Gumba and their Guidance Counselor Ms. Sheila when we first visited and told them that they are our identified benefactor for the Write Future Project.

Yesterday afternoon, the team went back to give to the school desk sharpeners, 30 chalk boxes and 50 pencil boxes for Kinder, Grades 1 & Grade 2 just in time for the upcoming National Exam for the students.

We went home with dirt-filled wheels but our hearts were warmth with an incomparable joy.

Environmentalists throughout the world have proposed bamboo farming as a way to offset carbon emission from the human population. Bamboo generates thirty-five (35%) percent more oxygen than trees. It is therefore helpful in human respiratory system and in air circulation at your home. Bamboos cleans the atmosphere of CO2 and purifies the soil. The roots help prevent erosion and run-off as well as providing shade, a sound barrier, and wind-break.”

Starting November 1, 2011, EMERY ESTATES as its part of its social and environmental responsibility, will be planting and giving bamboos on every home built.

Absolute Wall Construction System

Zamboanga: Insulated Absolute Wall Supply & On-Site Fabrication

On May 27, we sent our Technical Personnel to Tapangan Road, Tumaga, Zamboanga City for an 2 weeks on-site fabrication for Mr. Francisco’s house. An Insulated Absolute Wall Panel is an thermally-insulated permanent wall formwork system made from non-asbestos 4×8″ fiber cement facing sheets with Fiber Cement Spacers (FCS) in between. The wall has laminated 25mm thick Fire Rated Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) on one side for better thermal and acoustic insulation. The fiber cement smooth facing sheets acts as the finish wall surface that readily accepts paint finish. Insulated Absolute Wall panels are concrete filled and reinforced with structural reinforcing bars on-site. Once istalled, the system produces an insulated, solid and monolithic permanent wall.
